Those in our family can sometimes drive us crazy and other times bring us the greatest joy. These people were placed in our lives for a reason and I consider it such a blessing to have them:) Some of my happiest memories are during the holidays when we come together to give gifts and share love! I remember enjoying Christmas morning or a big Thanksgiving dinner with these people whom I love so much. I honestly couldn't think
of my life without each sibling, parent,
grandparent, and great-grandparent.
But what about after this life? When we die, is that it? While on earth there are definitely some unanswered questions and faith is required! I am so grateful to know from the restored gospel of Jesus Christ that I can live with my family forever. I can enjoy endless Christmas mornings and celebrations with these people who can drive me crazy and who I love. My greatest hope in this life is to marry a righteous young man and build a family that I can grow that same love for. A family that I can hold close to my heart forever.
It is so important to keep these people close to us while we are in this life. Life is so fragile and those we love can pass away tomorrow. A person I know at church recently passed away and it really made me think more about what matters. It is never worth it to hold grudges or pick fights. We have to say our "I'm sorry" and "please forgive me" today. There will not always be a tomorrow.
I remember my great-grandmother who I love dearly. Her and I wrote letters to each other from when I was 13 to 19 years old. She passed away while I was serving the Lord on my mission 4 years ago.
My wonderful grandpa Bohn passed away a few years ago from Cancer and I can still hear him saying "You gotta watch out for them boys. Make sure they treat you right!" I miss him so much too. It brings me such peace knowing that when my time is done here, I will be able to see their faces and talk to them again! This is a big reason why I love the gospel so much. It gives me that hope!
This faith has brought me joy! It has led me to strive to live a life of no regrets, love all those around me, and seek to become like Jesus Christ. I hope that when I pass away and meet my Savior, He can tell me that I have done enough and that I truly can have my family forever. This life is short, but it determines everything. So choose to be happy, love freely, and live with no regrets!
Challenge: Watch the video above. This week pick a family member who you may not have expressed appreciation for in a while and share with them what you love them.
