Finding joy in Fall!!!

As I am sure you can tell, Fall makes me so very happy! It is by far my favorite season and semester to be up at college. It is a time where people are more charitable, there are so many fun things to do, and family is at the center! If you aren't a big fan of the nip in the air or the holiday spirit, I hope after this short read that you will see the excitement and joy that can be felt during the Fall season:)

Fall activities

As I mentioned, there are so many fun things to do! Outside there is a nip in the air and so a hike usually feels amazing! The mountains are covered in snow for the snow-sports lovers! The weather is perfect for a trail run as I love to do.

Leaves are everywhere, so jumping in a pile of leaves is always an option! We can also stay indoors to watch football (go cougs!) or snuggle up to hot chocolate and a good hallmark movie! This is a time for crafts so if you are crafty you can deck your house in fun a Halloween or Thanksgiving decor! If not crafts, then sweets are always a score! I am probably the biggest fan of pumpkin treats on this earth ;)! All of these activities and more are top picks for the season!

The holiday spirit

If you are a human living in the United States then I am sure you are aware of the happy feeling of excitement that fills the heart in preparation for holidays! People seem to walk with a lighter step as they are preparing for the holidays and there is more generosity than any other time in the year.

It is beautiful that the whole point of Halloween is to have fun, Thanksgiving is to remember our blessings, and Christmas is to remember our Savior and serve each other. People are sometimes so excited for Christmas they set up their Christmas tree and blast Christmas music on the first of November (cough, cough...my roommates;). What a happy time for us all, especially for families!

Family

If you haven't noticed, the holidays are all about family! Halloween is a family ordeal and trick-or-treating is done together with people we love. Thanksgiving and Christmas bring people from far places to see family that they haven't seen in a long time! I remember that growing up the only times I would see my grandparents was usually Thanksgiving or Christmas. This always

made it extra special and warmed the cold, chilly air!

It is my hope that you feel the excitement in the air and catch that seasonal spirit! Prepare for the holidays coming and rather than curse the cold, enjoy it! This time of year is truly what you make it. We can feel bogged down by life and bah-humbug about the season or we can allow the joy of the season to fill our hearts and lift our spirits:) Which will you choose?

This website has even more options!-

Challenge: Choose a Fall activity that you have never tried before and then plan a day this week to do it with family or friends!
